1998-1999 Governor's Project Information T.E.A.M.S. Focus Planner | T.E.A.M.S. Scores | T.E.A.M.S. Report Form If you participated in last year's Governor's Project then the '98-'99 Governor's Project will seem very familiar to you. There are, however, a few major differences. The biggest difference is that the two branches of the project from last year (Super SpIDD and T.E.A.M.S.) have been combined into one branch (T.E.A.M.S.). In other words, there is no Fundraising branch of the Governor's Project. However, the focus areas have been revised and changed to include Fundraising for Spastics or IDD. I would encourage you to stick to service projects unless the focus area specifically says that it's a fundraiser. But as long as you donate money raised to the focus area at hand, it will still count. The other major difference this year is that this is going to be a point-based award. You'll receive points based on a set of criteria (listed on the Report Form) and you will receive the T.E.A.M.S. award if you collect 400 points throughout the year. There will also be an extra award for clubs that go above and beyond to score more than 500 points. If you participate in a project from the focus area every month, and turn them in on time you should have no problem at all attaining the 400-point goal. To assist your club in meeting the T.E.A.M.S. goal, I've included a monthly planner. This isn't required but it can help your club with their planning. The final deadline for all T.E.A.M.S. Report Forms is January 31st. What that means is that your January report is due a little early, and your February project won't even be completed. Get both of those forms postmarked by the deadline. Fill out the February Report based on what you plan to do and you will receive full credit. Once I receive your report, you'll get a summary that tells you how many points you scored that month, and how many you have total. There are seven point areas each month, totaling 100 points. I'll list each of those areas, they are also listed on the Monthly Report Form. Keep in mind that if you will receive no points if you choose a focus area that you have already used or if you don't submit the form. Participation- 50 points. On Time- If your report is postmarked by the 10th you get 10 extra points. Publicity- include any fliers, newspaper articles, etc… and you'll receive up to 15 points. K-Family Participation- did you do your project with other members of the K-Family? (Builders Clubs, Key Clubs, Circle K's, or Kiwanis Clubs) if so, you'll get 10 more points. Attendance- 5 points if 75% of your members helped out with your project. Iolian Contribution- submit an Iolian article about your project for 5 points. Picture- You'll get an additional 5 points if you submit a picture with the article. Just a quick note on the Iolian Articles, in order for you to receive T.E.A.M.S. points, you need to send the submission to me, and I'll forward it to our editor.
